The absolute quickest way to turn your life around is to appreciate something you already have.
I know, it’s counter-intuitive, but I promise you, it works.
No matter how bad your existence may seem at any given moment, you always have a choice of what to focus on – the darkness of your problems or the gift of your blessings.
It is so simple, it’s almost funny. The fact is: you cannot feel bad, when you appreciate something.
You cannot focus on a beautiful animal and feel bad about your finances at the same time. It can’t be done.
And every time you focus on something positive, no matter what it is, the universe is working on solving your problems. Even though you can’t see it with your eyes.
There is another aspect that’s also counter-intuitive: many people believe that they have to focus specifically on the solution of their problem.
That is not the case. You can appreciate anything in your life, completely unrelated to your current problem, and it will still bring you the solution you want.
Try it now. Take a piece of paper and write down the things you appreciate in your life. Three are enough. Actually, one is enough.
Then think about this one thing, how great it makes you feel, how happy and fortunate you are to have it.
Stay in this mood of appreciation for as long as you can. Even 30 seconds or a minute will yield results.
You will know it’s working by the way you feel.
If you do it right, you will feel relief. Sublime relief.
The tension you felt before, when you were thinking about your problem, will fall away. It literally feels like a load lifting off your shoulders.
Then, you will feel a wave of warmth coming over you, a lightness of being. It feels so good, you will want to stay in this feeling forever.
You will even get to a point where you can think of your problem without feeling tension. You will see it as something that is temporary and not negative in itself. It’s just a thing. And you know it will go away.
Trust this process. Do it often. And you will be amazed by how quickly it works.
